November 13, 2017   Project Humanity is pleased to announced it has joined the Building Bridges Coalition and is supporting the #VolunteerTogether campaign for the United Nations’ International Volunteer Day on December 5.

Born out of the Brookings Institution Initiative on International Volunteering & Service, the Building Bridges Coalition (BBC) is a consortium of leading organizations working collaboratively to advance the quality, impact, and scale of international volunteering.  Since its founding in 2006, BBC has engaged over 500 service organizations, universities, corporations, and individuals.  A significant mission of the BBC is to establish and promote best practices associated with international volunteerism, an initiative Project Humanity strongly supports.

In celebration of United Nations’ International Volunteer Day on December 5, Project Humanity will be participating in the #VolunteerTogether campaign.  Said Darren Tipton, PH CEO and founder, “We are pleased to be joining the BBC and support its mission and the work it’s doing among volunteer organizations.  Our work in Kenya and Zambia to promote women’s empowerment through healthcare, literacy, and micro finance through international volunteerism serves as testament to our belief  in the power of Kathatica – the infinite impact of service. We look forward to being an active member of the BBC, and to sharing our story through the #VolunteerTogether campaign.” Additional information on the #VolunteerTogether campaign may be found here.
