We’re celebrating our first full year of working in Livingstone, Zambia.  Over the past year we’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing women who are seeking every opportunity to start and grow small businesses as a means to leave the sex trade and to build a brighter future for themselves and their families!  Join us as we take in the beautiful area full of wildlife and the stunning Victoria Falls (one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World).

As part of the trip we’re also excited to be launching a brand-new sports outreach program with local youth intended to help reinforce making healthy decisions.  If you love sports and enjoy a competitive team environment this trip is for you!

This volunteer trip celebrates overcoming adversity and putting your best foot forward in everything you do.  Join in working with Zambia’s women and youth to shape opportunities for a bright future!

Our volunteer teams are usually a mix of students and retirees who have a desire to explore new places and who want to help others in the process.  Please remember that schedules, locations, and assignments can change with little notice.

Jun 24-25:  Depart from New York (JFK), Washington D.C. (IAD), Miami (MIA), or Orlando (MCO) for afternoon transatlantic departures to South Africa with connection on to Livingston, Zambia.  (International gateway airport will be determined at least 45 days prior to departure)

Jun 26:  After the overnight flight, await connecting flights to Livingstone, Zambia – arriving early afternoon.  After going through immigration, customs and exchanging funds for our trip, we shuttle over to our hotel for some great food and orientation.

Jun 27-30:  Our volunteer week of service will begin with women’s empowerment activities happening each day.  Educational opportunities with local educators will take place each day (more information to be available later).  We will be involved in 12 local meetings with large groups of women who have left the sex trade.  Depending on the number of women involved, we’ll also spend one or two days conducting the Story-to-Service program. One afternoon we will host the children of these women as well as other youth in games and outreach.

Jul 1:  On our final day in Livingstone, we’ll enjoy Victoria Falls and the Royal Livingstone Hotel.  There are no words to describe the freedom and reward you will feel visiting what’s been called one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of the World.”  Our final evening meal in Zambia will be a step back in time at the Royal Livingstone.  We’ll share our experiences around the evening camp fire and talk about the things we have learned.

Jul 2:  Morning departure from host hotel.  We will fly from Livingstone, Zambia to Johannesburg, South Africa with check in for evening flights to the United States.

Jul 3:  After arriving in US, go through customs and connecting flights where our team will go our separate ways.
